Ritual Skincare Spa

Okay, so I have a confession.

I don’t usually like to invest a lot of time in things that are in the “personal care” side of the spectrum.

Allow me to explain.

So I love it when my hair is done and my nails are done and my makeup is just so, but sometimes it’s hard for me to enjoy sitting somewhere for hours while getting all groomed up. I have no idea why, but that’s just how I’ve always been. But my latest facial experience has me changing my mind.

Jeanine Zaleski owns Ritual Skincare Spa in Hamburg, and she reached out to me recently asking if I’d like to come in for a facial. I’ve only gotten a total of two facials in my entire life, and now that I’m slowly pushing 40, I figured it was probably time to invest in my skin before I start looking like the crypt keeper.

Jeanine is so friendly and bubbly and we hit it off immediately. Her location is super clean and sanitary, so no need to worry about those pesky germs.

I always had assumed that facials were just relaxing and unassuming, but little did I know that I was in for an adventure.

She let me know that this facial was going to be a little (a lot) bit different than the ones that I had in the past. This one was going to be an Enzyme Therapy Treatment. According to her website, “The star of the treatment is the enzyme mask. The mask which consists of transfer-messenger enzymes, is applied to the face, neck and decollete and remains on the skin for 45 minutes, it conditions and activates the deep layers of your skin and works with your body’s natural chemistry to re-educate the skin.” You guys, this mask is so weird but one of the coolest things I’ve ever felt. Once the mask is applied it tightens up and you can feel your skin pulsating. I told her that I felt like I was turning into a lizard person.

Curious as to what it does?

  • Removes excess dead cell build-up. This is a big contributor to how the skin looks, feels, and is able to function. This is key to successfully changing and improving the quality of your skin.

  • Builds up the skin. The enzyme mask penetrates below the skin's surface to rebuild structural integrity and revitalize the skin at a cellular level. After the enzyme mask is applied, it will harden significantly and create a pulling and pulsating effect. These are the enzymes hard at work creating reverse osmosis, a backflushing process that forces fluid through the membranes around the cells flushing out impurities, toxins, and free radicals. Cells are encouraged to function and stay healthier longer to produce younger, well-functioning skin.

  • Brings fresh, oxygenated blood flow to your skin through circulation to produce better functioning tissue and to supremely nourish the skin.

  • Removes toxins, debris, and fluids from the skin, and provides lymphatic drainage.

  • Increases free water levels in the skin

  • Stimulates collagen & elastin production.

And, I guess I must have looked like a lizard person, because this is what you look like while the mask is doing its thing:

After the appointment, my skin felt so refreshed and hydrated. I felt like a brand new person! Jeanine gave me a 30 day supply of a few products for me to try out, which is amazing because up until that point my routine had been pretty much nonexistent. Here is a peek at what she gave me!

I’ve been using it morning and night and my skin feels super hydrated and bright. I’ve already been back for my second Enzyme Therapy Treatment and I have two more on the books. I think I’m finally turning a new leaf when it comes to skin care.

Jeanine so generously gave me a coupon code to share with all of you! As a new client of hers, when you sign up for your first facial appointment, when you enter code “NickelCityPretty” in the notes when you register, you’ll save 15% off your service! Her appointments are booking up super fast, so make sure to head over to her website to book today.

Thank you so much Jeanine! Can’t wait for my next appointment!
