Birthday Cake for BFF

It was BFF Krystle's birthday this week, and I wanted to make her a cake.  But I didn't want to do the usual writing on the top.

I remembered seeing this idea somewhere on the internets.  I'm pretty sure I pinned it to one of my Pinterest boards, because hello, all of the good ideas come from Pinterest.

I think it turned out pretty cute!  I just cut the numbers out of parchment paper (wish I had wax paper but it did the job) and put them on top of the frosted cake.  Then I pressed the sprinkles into the frosting around the numbers, and peeled off the numbers after I was done.  Super easy and adorable!

I think next time I attempt to make this, I will buy those little round ball sprinkles...those might work better.  And I might try covering the ENTIRE cake in sprinkles.  Now that would be cute and yummy.
